Doctor Who Series 8: 10 Reasons The Valeyard Is The Perfect Villain
3. The Valeyard Can Take Any Form
Yes, it would be awesome to have Peter Capaldi play the Valeyard as well as the Doctor, but disguise is part of the Valeyard's nature; he has a history of using aliases and illusions to hide himself until he is ready to reveal his true identity. The fact that he could be almost anyone the Doctor encounters adds an extra element of danger and intrigue to the Valeyard--what if he's a random stranger the Doctor saves? We've seen him as the unassuming Mr. Popplewick in The Trial of a Time Lord, Zimmerman in the novel Mission: Impractical, and even as Jack the Ripper in another novel, Matrix. His disguises are good enough to fool even the Doctor, which gives him a distinct advantage in their bizarre relationship. Which disguise will he choose next? It would certainly be the twist of the century if new companion Danny Pink turns out to be this dark version of the Doctor.
