Doctor Who Series 8: 10 Reasons The Valeyard Is The Perfect Villain
4. It Would Be A Chance For More Capaldi
Despite being part of the Doctor, the Valeyard has a separate physical appearance that bears very little resemblance to the Doctor's current regeneration. This could very well be to emphasize that he is the dark side of the Doctor, but having him share a face with the Doctor would drive home the point that they are the same man. And Peter Capaldi is talented and skilled enough to pull off such opposite roles. Capaldi has played a wide variety of roles over his acting career--John Frobisher in Torchwood: Children Of Earth, Cardinal Richelieu in The Musketeers, the Magi Balthazar in The Nativity, the infamous Malcolm Tucker in The Thick Of It...the list just keeps going on. Suffice it to say that his career has been long and illustrious, and he has proven that he not only has the skills to play the Doctor, he could also pull off a pretty epic Valeyard.
