Doctor Who: 10 Big Finish Companions Who Deserve To Be On TV

8. Erimem

The Fifth Doctor had an unfortunate habit of picking up high maintenance companions so it seemed fitting that, for his new audio creation, Big Finish gave him the female Pharaoh Erimemushinteperem. Meeting her in 1400 B.C., she ended up travelling with the Doctor and Peri Brown. Independent, powerful and used to getting her own way, Erimem could give the Doctor a run for his money and formed a deep friendship with Peri. For the range, this gave Nicola Bryant's Peri something else to do other than whine, which helped rehabilitate her character somewhat. Everyone's a winner! Erimem was trained as a warrior and a monarch so could be a formidable opponent. She clashed with Cardinal Richelieu, debated at the Coucil of Nicaea and defied the Doctor when she believed he was wrong. Always destined to rule, she considered becoming Dracula's consort (not the vamp version), before finally leaving the TARDIS to marry the ruler of Peladon. As played by Caroline Morris, Erimem was a sparky, courageous companion.
