Doctor Who: 10 Exciting Things Fan Already Know About Series 9
6. ...And Another Is Written By Toby Whithouse
The Series 9 double-whammy premiere will be followed by another two-parter which has been written by Toby Whithouse and described as one of the show's "scariest adventures yet". Gulp! It was the first story to be filmed for Series 9 and Toby's involvement alone was enough to raise anticipation. He's often cited as one of NuWho's best writers as the man who brought Sarah Jane Smith's return to life back in Series 2's School Reunion and his subsequent offerings - The Vampires of Venice (Series 5), The God Complex (Series 6) and A Town Called Mercy (Series 7) - have also been critically acclaimed. Let's not forget his work on Torchwood, too (he penned the Series 1 episode Greeks Bearing Gifts), and Doctor Who fans generally agree that his creation of the hit BBC Three supernatural series Being Human has put him in good stead to take over the reigns of the TARDIS when Steven Moffat decides to call it a day. But let's not get ahead of ourselves... Still, it's great that Toby will be back in Series 9 and the fact it's a two-parter is just the icing on a cake. Is it the autumn yet?!
