This story, along with the others, proved that Moffat€™s success with the Ninth Doctor wasn€™t just a fluke, and that he was someone who could pen really amazing stories with great emotional cores and plenty of fascinating scenes. The story of a very intelligent woman, some clockwork robots and a mysterious spaceship in the far future shouldn€™t work. That it does, and that it worked so amazingly well, is a great testament to everyone involved, and gives us a good idea why Moffat went on to become the producer for the series.
