Doctor Who: 10 Greatest Thirteenth Doctor Stories
5. Fugitive Of The Judoon
One of the most heavily discussed and somewhat controversial episodes of Chibnall's entire era, Fugitive of the Judoon introduces us to a mysterious new incarnation of the Doctor.
This episode is a great example of the bait and switch, almost tricking viewers into thinking that the story is about the Judoon, who are in Gloucester searching for the titular fugitive.
However, the real meat of this story comes when the seemingly ordinary tour guide Ruth - who the Judoon are weirdly interested in - heads to the lighthouse where she spent her childhood. Then, in an ultimate mic drop moment, Ruth goes inside and regains her memories, revealing that she is the Doctor.
With the Thirteenth Doctor having no memory of the Ruth Doctor, each of them assumes that the other is a future incarnation they haven't yet met, and in one of the most confusing yet intriguing moments in the show, Jo Martin is officially introduced as the Doctor in the end credits.
We also get a fan-pleasing cameo from Captain Jack Harkness, who warns the Doctor about the lone Cyberman, who we see later down the line.
