Doctor Who: 10 Most Unlikely Allies Of The Daleks
Even the supreme beings need a little help from their friends.
If the Doctor can have allies - so can the Daleks.
Since they first rolled onto our screens back in 1963, the Daleks have been exterminating their way from planet to planet in an endless bid to conquer the universe as the supreme beings.
However, even the supreme beings have needed a little help from their friends.
In order to reign supreme, sometimes you need a helping hand, and even the Daleks - who declare everyone else in the universe as 'inferior' to them - have had their fair share of help. Teaming-up with the worst of the worst or sometimes the most bizarre, the warriors from Skaro have ensured that they are the dominant lifeforms.
Whether it's assisting in their invasions, patrolling their bases or bulking out their numbers, the Daleks have shown that they can put aside their differences with other species and work together.
Assembled here are ten characters, races or minions that the Daleks have enslaved, manipulated, or hired throughout Doctor Who's history to do their bidding.
Be warned - if you think that the Daleks are deadly on their own, wait till you see them with back-up...
10. Pig Slaves
Created by the Cult of Skaro as obedient henchmen, these servants were genetically altered pig-human hybrids and one of many Dalek experiments taking place in '30s New York.
Allied with the Cult of Skaro in 2007's Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks, these monsters lurked in the sewers under New York, terrifying and kidnapping unsuspecting subjects for the Daleks' experiments.
Also working in the Cult of Skaro's laboratory under the Empire State Building, these slaves performed menial tasks and acted as added security for the remaining four Daleks.
Mutated from humans, the Pig Slaves had only basic intelligence and a lifespan of mere weeks, meaning that the Daleks had to keep creating more to do their bidding. One notable member of the Pig Slaves was former Laurenzi Theatre stagehand Laszlo, who managed to evade being fully-transformed and fought back.
He assisted the Tenth Doctor and companion Martha Jones in defeating the Daleks by helping to kill the rest of the Pig Slaves. Positioning a conductor as the Pig Slaves arrived in an elevator, they were electrocuted by lightning laced with gamma rays.
