Doctor Who: 10 Reasons Rose Tyler Is The Definitive NuWho Companion

6. The Big Bad Wolf

Another reason Rose Tyler will stand the test of time as NuWho's defining companion lies in the fact that she was the subject of one of the most dominant story arcs in the show's history. The ominous phrase 'Bad Wolf' haunted the Ninth Doctor and Rose throughout their adventures in Series 1 and it was eventually revealed that Rose was the Bad Wolf after she looked into the heart of the TARDIS and absorbed the energies of the time vortex. Her new found power gave her the ability to destroy the Daleks and resurrect Captain Jack Harkness and she scattered the elusive words through time and space as a message to lead herself to that precise moment to save the Doctor - and subsequently the entire universe - and be home in time for Christmas. Not too shabby. Bad Wolf has gone on to play a key role in NuWho as the phrase heralded her return in Series 4 before the aforementioned Moment adopted the physical appearance of Rose in her Bad Wolf guise during The Day of the Doctor. Bad Wolf is one of the most memorable arcs of the last decade and Rose is the psychical embodiment of it. You can't have one without the other and as a result she's left a particularly long lasting mark on the Doctor Who mythology.
