7. Her Devotion Knew No Bounds
Everyone has faced some form of heartbreak in their lifetime but not many can say that they were ripped apart from their loved one and forced to reside on a parallel universe forever more. This was the heartbreaking case for Rose Tyler (not that you'll need reminding of that fact) and, after vowing to stay with the Doctor for the rest of her life, her fate was eventually sealed on her behalf when they were forced to part ways following the climactic events of the Battle of Canary Wharf. And the nation wept. Say what you like about Rose Tyler but you can't deny that her devotion to the Doctor quite literally knew no bounds. While some would say that her borderline obsession with the titular Time Lord connoted an unhealthy ideology of the lengths one is prepared to go in order to be with their beloved, on the less cynical end of the spectrum it was simply a story of a young girl who was cruelly separated from her soulmate long before their time. Yes, she was prepared to rip the stratospheres of two universes apart to be reunited with the Doctor but it's not like she had much else going for her and you might as well die trying (as she'd already established on countless occasions). It's a good job she managed to break back into our universe when she did, actually, because otherwise she would have surely spent the rest of her life trying to get back. At least now she's been given the happily ever after she deserves with her own human/Time Lord counterpart so she - and us - won't have to spend the rest of her days wondering what could've been.
