Doctor Who: 10 Things You Didn't Know About The Pantheon Of The Gods

9. At Least TWO More Pantheon Members Are Coming

In an interview with CinemaBlend just before Season 1, Russell T Davies promised that viewers would see "at least three more" members of the Pantheon of the Gods.

Since RTD gave that quote, we've had Sutekh show up in The Legend of Ruby Sunday and Empire of Death, which leaves us with two more in Season 2! Or one more if you count Maestro, but since we already knew that Maestro was a god at that point, it's unclear whether Russell factored them in.

Still, whether it's one more or two more, more gods are definitely coming, and it's interesting to speculate when and how they'll manifest opposite the Doctor.

In the last season, Maestro was the villain in episode two, while Sutekh was our big bad in the finale. As we know from RTD1, he does love a winning formula, so could we expect the same thing again this time? Could the living cartoon character Mr Ring-a-Ding be evidence of a Maestro-style figure with power over the moving image or the light of the projector?

Or could the Doctor and Belinda find themselves facing off against two gods in the finale? And is Mrs Flood one of them?! It would certainly be an interesting way to up the stakes from last year – if you even can up the stakes from "the death of everything, ever."
