Doctor Who: 10 Times The Doctor Just Didn't Give A F***
7. Changing Someone's Entire Life Just Because He Can
It’s an age-old question in Doctor Who about what is and isn’t okay for the Doctor to meddle with. What makes something a fixed point in time, and what makes it fair game for them to mould into whatever outcome they see fit?
Well, being based on a classic book seems to help!
Kazran is a bitter old man who has little regard for anyone but himself and his riches at the start of A Christmas Carol but through the course of the episode, Eleven helps him see the error of his ways and turn a new leaf, giving him an entirely new life in the process.
And as Kazran points out, that was really quite cruel. Kazran develops new memories of a love he didn't know he had, and then has to choose one final day to spend her before she dies. "This is what the Doctor did to me," he coldly tells Amy. And you can see where he's coming from!
Does the Doctor know or care about any of this? Does he know how such a big rewrite might affect the timeline? Thankfully there was no big ugly paradox this time. Maybe he had it on good authority from a certain famous author that things would all work out in the end…
