Doctor Who: 11 Most Endearing Eleven Moments

6. €œFISH FINGERS AND CUSTARD€

11 The fact that a phrase like €œfish fingers and custard€ carries so much weight says a lot about the kind of absolutely insane show we€™ve all taken to enjoying. Anyway, this scene is one in which the Doctor has to face his mortality, and fittingly, it includes facing the Tardis dressed as Amelia Pond, the girl who enchanted him when he was new. It€™s a moment when the Doctor is sinking low, is on the verge of surrender and failure. And the Tardis draws on her knowledge to break a rule, to save him. The Doctor can be brave for his sweet little Amelia, but only if she shows him how. This moment exemplifies the relationship between the Doctor and his Tardis, and brings up emotions as old as the Eleventh Doctor. And best of all, it€™s a moment of triumph.
