Doctor Who: 12 Great Big Finish Stories You Have To Listen To

3. The One Doctor

One of the best things about the Big Finish output is that they allow time for every style of Doctor Who, from the ridiculous to the sublime to everything in between. They're happy to produce thrillers, horror and comedies. Some of the range's best have also been their funniest, from Frobisher the penguin from the comic strips making an appearance in The Holy Terror (a great listen), to the Seventh Doctor and Mel in Bang-Bang-A-Boom, a story set at the Intergalactic Song Contest that is as daft as anything in Season 24. Max Warp also does a pitch-perfect spoof of Top Gear.

The One Doctor is easily the best, though, having Christopher Biggins impersonating the Doctor to win fame and reward. His fake time machine looks and sounds like a portaloo and the story features a singing jelly creature voiced by Matt Lucas and a deadly task that involves assembling flat pack furniture! It's as funny, creative and bonkers as any Who the listener will ever experience.

If a listener's taste veers towards the more camp, not only are there further comedies but also adaptations of the Doctor Who stage shows including The Ultimate Adventure, surely Who's campest ever moment.
