Doctor Who: 14 Cool Details Revealed In David Tennant's The End Of Time Part One Commentary

13. This Stained Glass Window Is Partly CGI

Right at the start of the episode, Wilf goes inside a church and spots a beautiful stained glass window that, curiously, features a blue police box in its lower-left corner.

Now yes, there isn't actually a real stained glass window that has a TARDIS hidden away in the corner (not that we know of, anyway), but interestingly, most of the window seen in this shot is actually real - it's just the TARDIS bit that's CGI.

That's according to Lyn, who says that The Mill (the visual effects company that worked on NuWho until 2013) took a real stained glass window and "painted in" the TARDIS over the top. And they did a cracking job, we must say.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
