The Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald had embarked on an emotional rollercoaster together (to put it lightly!) throughout Series 8 and it really looked like it was the end for the dynamic TARDIS duo in the finale when they bid a tearful adieu after a climactic showdown with Missy and her army of Cyber corpses. To add to the poignancy, fans finally discovered why the Doctor hates hugging.
