7. Calculating

Peter Capaldi, at the time of his first episode, will be the oldest actor to debut as the Doctor; for he will be, in fact, a few months older than William Hartnell was at the time of his own debut in 1953. This doesn't necessarily mean he will have to dispense with all of the running and frantic antics prevalent in the past decades, but I don't think I am reaching too far to wager that it will be toned down. With this in mind, my 12th Doctor was going to be calculatingrelying on an active intellect to wile his way out of situations or plot his way into them. He'd have plans and back-up plans to ensure his "cool was kept." Because it would be undignified to run all the time, and my 12th Doctor was, if nothing else, dignified. He's a thousand years old, for goodness' sake. If that doesn't lend one the right to sit around and scheme while looking suave, I don't know what does.
