Doctor Who: Every 9th Doctor Episode Ranked Worst To Best
5. Rose
Rose may not be a fantastic episode of Doctor Who, but it managed to confidently introduce the world to 21st century Doctor Who.
While the Autons managed to transform the way people saw shop window dummies, it is important to note that they were extremely naff villains. Slow moving and clunky, these villains were essential however as they allowed the audience to focus on the Doctor and Rose instead.
One jarring element in an otherwise dramatic 45-minute episode, however, was the excruciating slapstick. From Mickey Smith being pulled into a burping wheelie bin to the Doctor wrestling with an Auton arm, it feels tonally at odds with the rest of the episode and season.
However, despite this, the episode proved that Doctor Who had a place in the 21st century thanks to the sparkling chemistry between the two leads and Russell T. Davies' bold reimagining of the show.
