Doctor Who: Every Single BAD WOLF Easter Egg And Reference

19. The Big Bad Wolf (The Unquiet Dead)

Doctor Who The Unquiet Dead Gwyneth Bad Wolf
BBC Studios

This is probably the first reference to Bad Wolf that viewers would remember seeing and twigging that maybe these words had some deeper meaning for Rose.

When Rose meets clairvoyant Gwyneth in Victorian Cardiff, it’s not long before our companion realises more than meets the eye with this sweet servant girl. As the two get talking and Gwyneth reveals to Rose that she has psychic abilities, Gwyneth reads deeper and deeper into Rose’s mind until she comes out with the line “And you, you’ve flown so far. Further than anyone. The things you’ve seen. The darkness, the big bad wolf.” before getting flustered and apologising.

Knowing what we know now, the “big bad wolf” was actually Rose herself, and this was the first sign that Rose really did link herself with the time vortex permanently throughout time!
