Doctor Who: Every Single BAD WOLF Easter Egg And Reference
13. Blaidd Drwg (Boom Town)
Now we’re into the references that were so big and obvious that I don’t even know if we can call them references instead of great big blaring signals with flashing lights and sirens saying “Hey everyone, look over here! We’re setting up something big for the finale!”
When our TARDIS team bumps back into Blon Fel-Fotch Passameer-Day Slitheen (otherwise known as Margaret Blaine), they quickly realise she can’t possibly have actually turned a new leaf and must be up to something. And of course, they’re absolutely correct.
Margaret has set up a project to build a nuclear power plant in Cardiff, which is designed to go critical and open the Cardiff Space-Time Rift, allowing her to surf her way to safety. The name of this project? Oh just some random Welsh words that Margaret picked from nowhere: Blaidd Drwg. Oh wait no, that of course translates to “Bad Wolf”.
And finally, we even have the Doctor and Rose acknowledge these two words cropping up all over the time and place. Only for Nine to just dismiss it as a total meaningless coincidence. And if this were RTD2, that’s exactly where all of this might have ended…
