Doctor Who Flux: 8 Bold Predictions For The Rest Of Series 13
6. The Series Will End With A Massive Reset
Not to celebrate too early, but this one actually seems pretty likely. Then again, it's also the safest guess on our list, so there is that.
There's nothing Doctor Who loves more than a big stonking retcon, and in fact, the show has played fast-and-loose with its canon so many times that we even made a whole video about it over on WhoCulture.
And hell, we could've probably made three or four videos about it.
Back to Series 13 though, and it's fair to say that - taking Doctor Who's entire history into account - the universe is in one of the worst states it's ever been in.
Untold amounts of planets have been destroyed, time is running wild, and with three episodes left, things are bound to get worse before they get better. It's a bit of a mess, so what's the quickest, easiest way for Chibnall to tidy everything up?
That's right: a retcon.
Essentially, there's so much universal destruction/timey-wimey weirdness going on that it feels like the only way to end things cleanly is to hit the reset button and reboot the universe, like Steven Moffat did at the end of Series 5.
This would be a bit of a cop-out, sure, but it also wouldn't be surprising in the least.
