4. Secrets Keep Us Safe

When Clara finds the History of the Time War book in the TARDIS library she just happens to open it to exactly the right place to learn the Doctors name at least one of his biggest secrets. How would she even be able to read that book? Wouldnt it be in Gallifreyan a language the TARDIS does not translate? This is either an absolutely enormous plot hole, which is possible, or theres a reason why the TARDIS made that information accessible for Clara. Perhaps she will need it later to save the Doctor? The Doctor makes a big deal out of telling Clara that secrets keep us safe. Its like hes trying to tell her that he has secrets and warn her away from them at the same time. Was he really that concerned about Clara learning the identity of the monster or was he using that as a distraction to keep her from asking even more important questions? The Doctor uses misdirection quite a lot when he wants to manipulate people. I suspect he is also always trying to distract himself from dwelling too much on the past. What if this is not only because the past is so painful but also that he is trying to hide something from himself? What if he deliberately forgot something because remembering it was too dangerous?
