Doctor Who Series 11: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'The Woman Who Fell To Earth'

4. The Doctor Building Gadgets Again

Something we haven’t really seen masses of in Who since the Tennant era is The Doctor building things out of various knick knacks.

Who can forget the machine that goes ‘ding’ when there’s ‘stuff?’ In episode one, we see The Doctor building some bits and pieces to take down the electric hairball, a teleporter to take her back to the TARDIS, and best of all, her sonic screwdriver.

I love that this screwdriver comes about based on the events of the story, and isn’t just spat out of the TARDIS console simply because The Doctor has a sonic screwdriver. It gives Whittaker's version of the character a slight mad scientist vibe, and that eccentricity works brilliantly with the rest of her take on the Doctor.

Also the go-to for Doctor Who, and could tell you why Sans Serif fonts are better than most. Still occasionally tap dances under the desk.
