Dreamcasting The Watchmen TV Show
4. Deborah Ann Woll - Silk Spectre II
Although she may be up to her ears in Marvel projects, with the upcoming Punisher series and season three of Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll is more than talented enough to capture Laurie Juspeczyk. She has proven her ability at portraying vulnerability and being a tough and active player in the plot as Karen Page.
The film drew a lot of criticism for its depiction of Silk Spectre. Laurie appears whiny and acts as more of a vehicle for the arcs of other characters like Nite Owl II or Dr. Manhatan, rather than the strong character she was in the novel. It's only natural that casting for the show should go into the opposite direction.
Laurie is an important character, being directly connected to the stories of many other Watchmen, so she shouldn't be relegated to a second-string player. She possesses many of the traits that Woll pulls off in her current roles, being a persistent character who refuses to be sidelined, and struggles with the complexities of a superhero life and keeping the dual identities.
