Emmys 2019: 10 Biggest Shocks And Snubs Of The Night

5. Lead Actress Went To Underdog Jodie Comer

Killing Eve
BBC America

This year's Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category was one of the best in years. Emilia Clarke was up representing Game of Thrones - and looked like a contender after giving her greatest performance on the show in its final season - while Sandra Oh's turn in Killing Eve was earmarked as being a favourite, alongside Robin Wright for House of Cards.

It was Wright who was expected to clinch it - considering it was also Cards' final season - but it was actually Killing Eve's Jodie Cormer who came out on top, even beating co-star Oh for the gold.

It was a justified win, but one nobody saw coming considering the competition.
