Every Classic Doctor Who Companion Ranked From Worst To Best

15. Peri Brown

You Killed Peri
BBC

Perpugilliam Brown was an American student who encountered the Doctor during his visit to Lanzarote. She spent her vacation time with him and then joined him in the TARDIS, and was witness to the Fifth Doctor's regeneration into the Sixth Doctor, though she struggled with this version due to his gruffer nature than the more good-natured predecessor.

She managed to meet Jamie McCrimmon and the Second Doctor during an encounter with the Sontarans but her connection to the other TARDIS familiars was limited. She briefly met Vislor Turlough and Kamelion.

The Time Lords eventually separated her from the Doctor and, according to the Master, she was wed to King Yrcanos. This was partially true, as there were several different outcomes for her fate as several different factions of Time Lords used her against the Doctor. In one future, her mind was obliterated while in others she was happily residing with her new family.

Peri was present for some of the Doctor's darkest moments, particularly in his dealings with his own people. Though several companions have died in their dealings with the Doctor, Peri certainly seems to have received a poor deal.
