Every Classic Doctor Who Companion Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Zoe Heriot

The Doctor and Ace
BBC

Zoe was a companion of the Second Doctor and was in many ways his intellectual equal. She was a scientist from the late 21st century, though her education had left her with knowledge of everything except emotion. After meeting the Doctor, she tried to hide in the TARDIS so that she could travel with him, though he had concerns about whether she would be able to handle it or not.

He tried a thought experiment with her, wherein he showed her his most recent encounter with the Daleks. It terrified her, satisfying the Doctor that she could in fact feel something. He then assured her that he had seen these alien nightmares destroyed and that they would not bother them again.

Right.

Zoe, along with Jamie, would face the Cybermen, however, helping the Doctor to defeat their invasion of Earth. They would have many more adventures before they landed on a planet controlled by the War Lords. This led to the Doctor's imprisonment by the Time Lords and the wiping of her memory, leaving her with only a vague feeling of having forgotten something important.
