Another one of Dr. Gero's androids, Android 16 is the most unique of them all. Unlike the others, 16 isn't a violent killing machine. Since he is modeled after Gero's son, he is eventually given a kind nature and sealed away to avoid conflict, as Gero doesn't want to see him harmed.

Because of this, 16 refuses to fight anyone who isn't Goku, as he is the only person he is programmed to kill.

Eventually though, 16 does step in the protect Android 18 from Cell. It is then when we are able to see the android's incredible power. He is able to stand up to Imperfect Cell, something the other androids could not.

Like 18, Android 16 sees a bit of a redemption arc, as he is reprogrammed by Bulma's father to help the Z Warriors. Although he does try to help, he is eventually destroyed by Cell. This sparks Gohan to become Super Saiyan 2.

Of all the androids, 16 is the stand-out one. He is the most imposing, he is the strongest and has the most unlikely personality for a killing machine. It is because of this that he is one of the better villains of the series, even if he doesn't pose much of a threat to the heroes.
