6. Episode 07 - Champagne Papi
During the first season, the Van-centred episode "Value" touched on Van's insecurities and purpose in life, and in "Champagne Papi", these insecurities still linger following her break-up with Earn in the episode "Helen".
In this episode, Van accompanies her friends to a New Years Eve bash held at one of Drake's mansions. In a hope to boost her Instagram and stick it to Earn, Van endeavors to get a picture of herself with the famous rap artist.
Van discovers that Drake is not at the mansion, and the guests are merely posing with a cardboard cutout of the rapper in a misinformed and desperate attempt to brag to their own Instagram followers. This continues the theme of the season as Van is not only robbed of an opportunity to meet Drake, she's also robbed of the chance to stick it to Earn.
The random appearance of Darius is fun but what really sticks out in the episode is that none of Van's friends appear to be having a good time. Everything is a front in this episode from the cardboard cutouts to Drake's true heritage.
Only Van is the one to figure out the truth in the last ten seconds of the episode.
