Every HBO Miniseries Ranked Worst To Best
28. The Third Day (2020)
Purposefully slow-burning and disturbingly twisted, The Third Day's folk-horror tone keeps the tension ramped up to eleven for the majority of its run. Jude Law plays a man drawn to a mysterious island that holds many unsettling secrets.
The miniseries came complete with a 12-hour special that was filmed live on the island, allowing audiences to become immersed in the drama as it unfolded. Unfortunately, despite the innovation, this didn't work well with the rest of the show, and left the narrative a bit too scattered. A scary and clever tale, sure, but one that could have done with less experimentation.
