9. Thinking Out Loud

Inside No 9
BBC

Plot: This episode consists of various characters monologing to the camera and recording video messages - they are all somehow connected.

Location: Various locations.

Thinking Out Loud is arguably the finest episode of season five. It is a confusing one on first viewing and therefore it might takes a couple of watches to fully get, but it is still a superb bit of writing.

The various monologues from the different characters are remarkably well-written and performed and it spite of how baffling it all is at first, Thinking Out Loud sure as hell rewards the viewer's patience with one of the greatest twists Inside No. 9 has ever dropped.

The episode then culminates in a brilliantly-done and intensely powerful conclusion that confirms this episode as one of the most creative, fascinating and successful depictions of multiple-personality-disorder you'll ever watch.

All in all, a dizzyingly creative and utterly awe-inspiring episode of television.
