Every Star Trek Film & TV Show Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994)
It's not at all controversial to state that The Next Generation is the greatest instalment of Star Trek ever made. The series started off rough in the first two seasons, but the characters quickly asserted themselves as worthy successors to the Original Series crew.
New advancements in technology like the holodeck, replicators, and, of course, Data, as well as the new, more comfy-looking design of Starfleet's tech, made the show seem like a step beyond the previous two shows, set about a century beforehand.
The Next Generation brought back classic Trek aliens like the Romulans, Klingons, and Vulcans, but evolved them, and expanded on their lore enough to make them seem fresh. The show also introduced audiences to some new fan-favourite aliens like the Ferengi, Borg, and Q.
Improving on one of the most beloved and classic shows in history is no simple task, but the creators of The Next Generation pulled it off incredibly.
