Every Star Trek Reference, Easter Eggs & Jokes In The Simpsons

This is one of the less obvious Star Trek references hidden within The Simpsons, and acts more like a bonus Easter egg for the most hardcore of fans.

In the season six episode titled Two Dozen And One Greyhounds, Santa's Little Helper runs away from the Simpson family home, and eventually mates with a racing dog by the name of She's The Fastest. She most certainly is, as she gave birth to a total of twenty-five puppies with the Simpsons' dog.

At a pet store earlier in the episode, however, the clerk performs a mind meld on Santa's Little Helper, using the same Vulcan-like mind control abilities that are used within Star Trek. It's not quite as severe as those that have been performed on the likes of Tom Paris and Dr. Simon Van Gelder, as all the clerk was able to achieve was ensuring the family left with an abundance of his merchandise to help calm down Santa's Little Helper.

To further boost the reference, the music that's used throughout Star Trek's mind meld scenes is also the background music used in this scene.
