Every Star Trek Reference, Easter Eggs & Jokes In The Simpsons

Leonard Nimoy, who of course played Spock, is one of several Star Trek-related guest stars throughout Simpsons history, as he appeared in season eight's The Springfield Files as a TV presenter who's hosting a programme regarding alien encounters.

Of course, who else would have such an encounter but Homer Simpson?

While walking home from Moe's after drinking over ten beers in one night, Homer ends up in the woods after taking a wrong path (he had been forced to walk after taking a breathalyser test). It's here that he stumbles across a glowing alien with thin bones.

Dr. Hibbert asks Homer a simple question following this, asking if the alien was carbon-based or silicon-based; a direct reference to the Horta that is native to the planet Janus VI.
