2. Scratchy And The Talosians
The Itchy and Scratchy cartoon that's featured in season six's debut, Bart of Darkness, references not only Planet Of The Apes, but also Star Trek: The Original Series. To be more precise, the episodes it parodies are The Cage (the original pilot), The Menagerie Part I (season one, episode fifteen), and The Menagerie Part II (season one, episode sixteen).
In the skit, Itchy traps Scratchy for 3000 years behind a brick wall, with the feline eventually resurfacing, complete with a beard and his extremely frail physical stance. As for Itchy? He now resembles Talosians - the aliens from the planet Talos IV. Because of this, he possesses strong telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
The Itchy & Scratchy episode itself, titled Planet of the Aches, doesn't feature any Star Trek references beyond this, but it's a cool nod to include them in the fun as well.
