Firefly: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
4. Inara Serra
Inara was quite possibly one of the best pieces of world-building in the show. Her title of "Companion" made a compelling statement about the status and perception of sex workers that was lightyears ahead of its time. However, Inara was more than what she represented, as the character was also one of the most thoughtful and caring parts of the show, which made her instantly likeable.
Her confidence was utterly infectious, as the character had pride in herself and her work which made her endearing and enviable. While others might have looked down on Inara, she powered through, with a quick wit and the ability to stand up for herself when she needed too.
Additionally, she was incredibly amusing, as her contributions to the crew's games and flirtatious dialogue with Mal was full of great comedy. This amusing personality was juxtaposed with a great ability to play up to polite society, bringing a real touch of class to the rather classless vessel.
This powerful character was fun, charming and used her influence to help Serenity out of a jam on many occasions. To this day she still ranks as one of Morena Baccarin's best performances.
