The Flash: 19 Easter Eggs And References You Have To See

6. Dead Fiancee Ronnie Raymond

Speaking of Snow's dead fiance, perhaps the "dead" should've been in quotation marks. That isn't just a bit of tragic back story for a character who acts as a counter point to the more fun-loving qualities of Barry and Cisco, that's yet another piece of subtle foreshadowing for a character from the comics who could be showing up later in The Flash's run. You see, Cattie's beau-to-be was named Ronnie Raymond, a young chap who is set to become Firestorm, The Nuclear Man! Don't feel bad if you've never heard of him. Most people haven't. To be honest, Ronnie's probably only dimly aware of what's going on with his alter ego. Raymond was the original Firestorm (DC get through a lot of what they call "legacy characters", names and power sets passed on through generations of heroes), a high school student caught in a scientific accident and was fused with Nobel Prize-winning physicist Martin Stein, creating a nuclear-powered superhero controlled by their two warring consciousnesses. It's possible the on-screen Firestorm will have a slightly less confusing MO, but he's definitely going to show up (he's been cast and everything, with The Tomorrow People's Robbie Amell reportedly appearing from the third episode). What's doubly interesting is that in the comics, one of Firestorm's big enemies is Killer Frost. So maybe the love birds won't be reunited in quite such a romantic fashion?
