Friday Night Lights Cast: Where Are They Now?

A key character for the first three seasons, Minka Kelly’s Lyla Garrity was a deeper exploration of the small town girl than we can often expect to see on TV. Lyla began her onscreen life as a typical overachiever, but over three years was developed and expanded significantly before making way for the next generation.

Kelly has appeared in a few prominent films since her departure, though primarily in minor roles. Probably the most interesting part was as Jackie Kennedy in Lee Daniels’ The Butler, a historical epic of sorts in which she shares the bill with bonafide stars like Robin Williams and Jane Fonda.

On the small screen, Kelly made a quick cameo in Entourage, as is contractually obligated for every attractive young actress, and has played recurring parts in more reputable TV like Parenthood and Jane The Virgin. She also had leading roles in the swiftly cancelled Charlie’s Angels and Almost Human.

She currently voices Dawn Granger on Titans, making her part of the DC extended universe. The show is a reasonable ratings and critical hit, and is in pre-production on a third season.
