Friends: 10 Storylines Season 11 Could Have Explored

8. Gunther Sells Central Perk

Friends Ross Joey
NBC

If there's one thing we know to be true in the modern world, it's that small businesses like Central Perk often become victims to massive chains like Starbucks. While that kind of commentary might have been a little premature in 2005 when this hypothetical season would have aired (give or take), it still would have been fascinating to see Gunther selling his beloved coffee shop.

Central Perk is an essential location in Friends, but Gunther was a character who was often passed over thanks to his slight creepiness and love for Rachel. So, seeing him decide to pack up his things and move to a new life wouldn't be too much of a shock.

Saying goodbye to the white-blonde haired man would have been a heartfelt moment, and the new management could have proposed some significant challenges for the group. Plus, even seeing the cafe's name changed would be enough to drive most of them to fits of lunacy, meaning it would have been quite a hilarious spectacle.
