3. She Was A Bully In High School
We find out pretty early on in Friends that Rachel may not have been the nicest of people back in high school. She was an attractive, popular student but was apparently somewhat of a ‘mean girl’ to a few of the less-popular kids.
In the Season 1 episode, ‘The One Where The Monkey Gets Away’, Monica and Rachel fail to recognise Luisa, a former classmate who now works in animal control. Luisa didn’t seem to have a major problem with Monica because, according to Luisa, ‘she was fat, she had her own problems’, but she expresses a real dislike for Rachel, calling her a ‘bitch’.
But most notably, we later learn that there was an ‘I Hate Rachel’ club at her high school, due to her bullying behaviour. Will, played by Brad Pitt, and Ross co-founded the club due to Rachel making their lives miserable.
There may have only been three members in this club, Will, Ross and Ta-Taka-Ki-Kek, the foreign exchange student from Thailand, but even so, inspiring an ‘I Hate Rachel’ club suggests that Rachel was far from the friendliest person in her high school.
