2. Matthew Perry (Chandler)
Despite Matthew Perry’s Chandler being frequently cited as most people’s favourite character, his career fizzled the most in the wake of the finale. He’s set for life with his Friends salary and isn’t well know for his celebrity lifestyle so is unlikely to have blown through it all.
Still, it’s a shame we haven’t seen a little more of him.
Not that he’s been a total recluse. Immediately after Friends he had a guest role in Scurbs, keeping the popular sitcom vibe going. He had yet another sitcom role as the lead in Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, a meta behind the scenes documentary on a fictional sketch show.
Perry’s performance and the show in general proved popular with critics, but not audiences. Sadly, it was cancelled after one highly praised, Golden Globe nominated and Emmy winning season.
He went from this to so-so comedy 17 Again, more notable as a Zac Efron vehicle. His next sitcom lead, Mr Sunshine, was also met with a season one cancellation, but this time without the critical praise. After this, his sitcom lead in The Odd Couple also failed to land any critical celebration, but did at least manage to reach a second season before being axed.
Most recently, he appeared in Reelz' The Kennedys drama as Ted Kennedy.
