9. Tom Selleck (Richard)
Were it not for how perfect Monica and Chandler were together, Richard really would have felt like the one who got away. For the audience, he still sort of was, as it meant no more Tom Selleck on our TV screens.
Similar to Elliot Gould, Selleck had quite the stellar career before his role on Friends, and therefore might have been exempt. Nothing he’s done since has surpassed his role as Magnum, PI after all. He has, however, steadily worked, most notably starring in one of TV’s best consistently under the radar police dramas, Blue Bloods.
While most cop shows come and go quickly, Blue Bloods has stuck around for 200 episodes, recently being renewed through its tenth season. Carried by Selleck, along with Donny Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan, the show focuses on the family aspect of the police more than the arrests, centring around their weekly Sunday lunch.
Selleck is a brilliant pick as the strong yet sensitive police chief and grandfather.
Elsewhere, Selleck has starred as Jesse Stone in the cult direct to DVD series Stone Cold (across six movies), and in the underrated Disney animation Meet The Robinsons.
