Friends: The Worst Thing Each Friend Has Done!

Phoebe really is the poster child for hilarious sitcom characters with shockingly tragic backstories. Her childhood was writhed with misery, poverty and crime, with most of her worst acts coming as a youngster - including mugging Ross and stabbing a cop (yes, really!). Still, you can easily excuse these thanks to the tragic circumstances of her youth. With that being said, this moment can't be explained away so easily.

In season ten's "The One With Ross's Tan", Monica and Phoebe get annoyed when a blast from the past returns in the form of their old friend Amanda, played by Jennifer Coolidge. They attempt to "cut her out" by ignoring and avoiding her. But, after a misfire from Chandler results in them being forced to hang out with her, she reveals that Phoebe once tried to do the same to Monica.

Phoebe confesses that she did try to "cut her out" after they lived together, even going so far as to move out without telling her, causing Monica some serious emotional damage. She does reveal that she's glad she didn't go through with the cutting, but it's still easy to see how horrible her intent was. Even if Monica was high-maintenance and obsessive, abandoning a friend is needlessly cruel.

Just imagine how different the show would have been had Phoebe not come to her senses.
