Monica might well be the Friends cast member who seemed to change the least over the show's ten seasons. She was always keen to find "the one," she was always invested in her career as a chef and her long-term goal of being the head of a family. She never shook off her fears of becoming her mother or her quirky personality traits and we loved her for every one of them.
She started out more sarcastic sure, but as the show settled and each of the characters took on their recognisable roles, she became the motherly figure, looking after her best friends as they needed it. She might have been something of a control freak, but she was warm and affectionate and willing to defend everyone to the last.
And while Ross and Rachel were supposed to be the show's It Couple, her relationship with Chandler was arguably even better to watch.
