2. The Harrenhal Tourney

While the Kingslayer incident is the culmination of a whole lot of bad bood, the lesser-mentioned Tourney at Harrenhal has gone down in Westeros history as the flashpoint that ultimately toppled the first domino to start Robert's Rebellion. Long before the pair met in combat, Robert and Rhaegar locked horns over a lady, Lyanna Stark. She was betrothed to Robert, but after a stunning performance throughout the tourney, the Targaryen won, and presented the blue roses (to signify the Queen of Love and Beauty) on the lap of Lyanna, overlooking his own wife, Elia Martell.
