Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Believable Fan Theories
1. Jon Snow Comes Back From The Dead
Jon Snow is dead. He’s as dead as can be; deader than dead. If being dead were in the Olympics, he’d win the gold medal. He’s so dead that HBO programming chief Michael Lombardo made a rhyme about it, which obviously means its true.
So, now that we’ve established Jon’s fate - dead! - let’s get back to discussing how he comes back to life. The most popular theory is that Melisandre will resurrect him, which has only increased thanks to the season 5 finale (when she arrives back at Castle Black conveniently just before the mutiny). We’ve already seen one follower of R’hllor - Thoros of Myr - bring people back, so it wouldn’t be a stretch for the Red Priestess to do it.
She’d have motive, with Stannis dead and having seen Snow in her fires, Jon is the likeliest candidate (to her, at least) for being Azor Ahai. There’s means too, as if she needs King’s Blood then Shireen is still at The Wall in the books, while Theon or Asha/Yara could also fulfil that purpose.
Other theories include Jon joining the Others, which seems like just too big a twist for it to really fit, or Bran and the three-eyed raven bringing him back, with some ancient Children of the Forest/weirwood resurrection magic. That’d be my personal preference, because it ties their stories together (and could lead to the R+L=J confirmation, while meaning he isn’t getting involved with the Lord of Light), but Melisandre does seem the most likely saviour as things stand.
