Game Of Thrones: 10 Reasons Season 6 Will Be The Best Yet

7. The New Cast

HBO
Game of Thrones has one of the largest casts in television history and they just keep adding to it€” although, they also dispense with quite a few from time to time. And yet, with so many actors vying for spotlight, there€™s not too many weak links in the cast. You have your solid leading men, like Sean Bean and Stephan Dillane, your veterans, like Charles Dance and Diane Rigg, not to mention some amazing child actors, like Maisie Williams and Jack Gleason. And Season 6 is looking to add some more talent to the roster. The two biggest additions this year are Ian McShane and Max Von Sydow. McShane made a name for himself on HBO€™s Deadwood and is the type of actor who has you hanging on to his every word. His character remains a mystery, but no doubt the showrunners gave him some nice material to dig his teeth into. Von Sydow, on the other hand, takes over the role of the Three-Eyed Raven, who we saw very briefly at the end of Season 4. It€™s an interesting role that fans are eager to see explored deeper, and you really couldn€™t get a more distinguished man for it. Von Sydow has appeared in everything from The Seventh Seal to The Exorcist, and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Even with the already impressive cast, getting such a legend as Von Sydow is quite a feat for the show. Beyond these two exciting choices we have such recognizable faces as Richard E. Grant (Withnail & I), Essie Davis (The Babadook) and Kevin Eldon (Hot Fuzz), along with the lesser-known actors looking to make their mark.
