While book readers are quickly running out of material to hang on to, they can rest assured that we€™ll be touching on two highly anticipated storylines that have been missing from the series. And while the current trajectory of the show€™s plot means these storylines will deviate significantly, the possibilities that can come from these plots are really exciting. First up is Oldtown, which we€™ll be introduced to through Samwell Tarly€™s journey. Oldtown serves as the training ground for the maesters, which is what brings Sam there, and is the setting for great intrigue. It's still unclear how it all fits into the bigger picture, but since the show is taking time to include the subplot, it's safe to say it holds some significance for the overall plot. Moving on to a location we're already familiar with, Season 6 will take us back to the Iron Islands to spend some quality time with the Ironborn. They have been very peripheral players in the larger game, but this season will bring them more into the fold as they make their own moves for power. We've already been introduced to a few members of the Greyjoy family, whole rule over the Iron Islands; Theon, his sister Yara and their father Balon. But the addition of Theon's uncle Euron is what really has people talking. Euron, also known as the Crow's Eye is a pirate of sorts and a man of great cruelty and brutality. He'll be giving Ramsay and Joffrey some solid competition for the 'most evil' title. Many had assumed that these two plots would be cut for the show, so their inclusion is a pleasant surprise to all. The exact details of these storylines are well hidden but they'll surely introduce to some great new locations and new characters.
