5. Show The Targaryens In Power

The Targaryens are one of the biggest and most historic houses in all of Westeros, a legendary family known for ruling and setup as a truly major player in the game of thrones. The only problem is we've only met two of them, and one has been stuck half a world away for five seasons, while the other had a pot of molten gold poured over his head. Daenerys may have her dragons, but the Targaryens are far from the power they used to be. 

Thankfully, that's exactly what a prequel could show. The Targaryen dynasty was a lengthy one, and they could focus on any number of memorable rules. The most obvious, of course, is the Mad King Aerys II, and it would be rather brilliant to see him on screen, but just like Dany probably isn't the only Targ in the present, he's not the only worthwhile one from the past.

It could show Aegon the Conqueror, Baelor the Blessed, or even Aegon IV Targaryen, said to be the worst King in Westeros history. And, of course, with bringing historic Targaryens to the screen, you could also bring some epic dragons, ones that far outstrip those seen on the series, such as Balerion the Black Dread.
