Game of Thrones: 10 Storylines So Boring They'll Put You To Sleep
6. Nobody Wants Brienne Of Tarth
For a secondary character, Brienne has given viewers some of the show's stand-out moments. Her relationship with Jaime Lannister was key in allowing his transition into a completely different person - or perhaps into being perceived by viewers as a completely different characters. This was an example of what Game of Thrones does better than any other TV show at the moment. It presents you with a character you have strong feelings for and turns those feelings upside down. From love to hate and back again. Some of her battles have been epic. Her battle with the bear in the bear pit was one of the show's most incredible fights scenes, probably only topped by her encounter with The Hound in the last season. When Brienne is fighting, she's great. Not so much when she talks though. She's almost entirely humourless - inherently good, but unfunny. The success of her storyline tracking down Arya and Sansa rested on whether she actually saved them or not. Tracking down Arya, killing her captor, only to then let her go was disappointing. To repeat the trick again with Sansa was massively frustrating. Of course, she might still save Sansa yet, but they're making bloody hard work of it.
