Game Of Thrones: 10 Worst Things The Starks Have Ever Done

5. Arya Wasted Jaqen H'ghar's Three Kills

When Ned lost his head on the steps of Baelor's sept, every Stark's world fell apart. Robb led his bannermen into war with the Lannisters, Sansa finally realised the monster she was betrothed to, and Arya was left stranded in King's Landing with no-one but Yoren to protect her.

This was something that she was forced to get used to, learning to fight and protect herself. After Yoren was killed on their journey to the Wall, the young Stark found herself trapped within the walls of Harrenhal under the watchful eyes of Gregor Clegane and Tywin Lannister. At this time however, she was not without an ally.

As repayment for saving three lives, Jaqen H'ghar owed Arya three deaths in honour of the God of Many Faces. Arya could have named Tywin Lannister, Gregor Clegane, and even Joffrey Baratheon, and her friend and his invaluable skills would have seen them dead eventually. If she had thought about it properly, she could have helped Robb in his war like no other.

Yet Arya thought about revenge and escape more so than the bigger picture, wasting her first two kills on the Tickler and Ser Amory Lorch. Two people whose deaths achieved relatively little in the long run. Though she tried to name Tywin as her final kill, it was too late as he was already preparing to march into battle against her brother.
